Malakand Test Centers Wanted for Admission in BS Law Course – Newspaper

SWAT: A large number of students from Malakand Division have complained that they have difficulty passing the Law Admission Test (LAT) organized by the Higher Education Commission as they have to travel to Peshawar, Abbottabad and Islamabad for this purpose.

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, students led by Abbas Khan, Shahid Ali, Munir Ahmed, Sumbal Khan and Shazia Kaleem, said a large number of students each year from Swat, Shangla, Buner, Upper and Lower Dir , Bajaur and Chitral appeared. in LAT to apply for admission to various universities and law schools in BS law.

They said that despite the huge population of Malakand Division, the LAT was conducted in Peshawar and Abbottabad, forcing students including women to travel to Peshawar or Abbottabad at great expense and hassle.

They lamented the non-availability of a testing center in Malakand division, saying female students had to be accompanied by male family members to testing centers miles away from their homes.

The students said they also faced mental stress as sometimes due to traffic jams they could not reach the test centers in time. They said that due to poverty, many students were often unable to appear for tests as they could not afford to stay in hotels.

They regretted that HEC provided centers in Abbottabad, Peshawar, Islamabad, DI Khan and other divisions but failed to do so in Malakand division.

They requested Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to ensure that LAT centers are also established in Malakand division, especially in Swat.
